Head Teacher's Welcome

Welcome to the St Catherine’s Catholic School website.

Whatever your reason for reaching our home page I hope that you will be able to navigate your way around successfully and find the information you need.

St Catherine’s is a very successful school with a reputation for academic excellence. We are a true comprehensive and provide a quality education for our students irrespective of their ability as they all have the potential to succeed beyond their expectations. Most importantly our students develop, whilst in our care to be confident young women who understand and appreciate the valuable contribution they can make to society.

St Catherine’s is also a happy school. The learning experience is our main priority and our teachers work together to ensure that the students are inspired, motivated, challenged and engaged by their teaching. We enrich the students’ education through an impressive range of extra-curricular activities, visits and journeys.

As a Catholic School our Christian faith, our shared beliefs and values underpin all that we do. Our students have a clear understanding of our expectations and we strive each day to maintain a learning climate in which each student feels valued, safe and secure.

I am so proud to be the Headteacher of this wonderful school and especially of the achievements of its students.

All parents are invited to attend our AGM when the roles of Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer are decided. Other items on the agenda will be final details for the Race/International food night and the Christmas Fair. Please try to attend, your input and support is always appreciated.

Friday 21st  October 2016, 7pm

PA RACE NIGHT/INTERNATIONAL FOOD THEME This is our 1st event of the school year, also it’s “FREE”.  A race night coupled with an International food theme, this event is to welcome the new year 7’s and make then feel at home at St. Catherine’s. As I said, the evening is “FREE”, apart from a few pence for having a bet on the races! It’s your chance to get to know other parents in your year and throughout the school, not forgetting the PA people, who will be there for a chat and taking part/helping out! The INTERNATIONAL FOOD THEME has been used successfully in recent years. All we ask, if you are coming along, is to bring along a plate of your local cuisine, “finger food” nothing too fancy required! For all to try.

We look forward to meeting you all over a glass of wine or a soft drink and a cheer for the winning horses/jockeys! If you are coming and will be bringing a food dish, please do let me know, using my email address shown below.
