Specialist School
As many of you know, the school was re-designated as a media arts specialist school last summer.
Over the last four years, every pupil has
benefited from our specialism through lessons enhanced by Media, Drama and English, also from trips, competitions and visiting
professionals that have all given opportunities for exciting experiences both in and out of the classroom.
Also included are the
wonderful resources we have in the school to help our work, together with our very own radio station.
Our re-designation will give us some funding, but we are in a position to apply for an additional capital grant of £25,000 if we
can raise the same amount ourselves. We are allowed to raise this amount in different ways, but £15,000 needs to be raised
through work and contact with the working world, business and enterprise.
This is where we hope that some of our parents may have contacts, or work in areas that may support us.
The £15,000 does
not necessarily have to come from sponsorship, although that is very acceptable. We can also accept offers of professional
time being given to the school to help build our students’ knowledge of the working world.
The remaining £10,000 can be
purely from donations or sponsorship.
If you feel that you may be able to help us, in whatever way you can, please contact me at the school so that we may arrange a
meeting. It is a wonderful way of grasping the opportunity to help St. Catherine’s to continue the innovative and comprehensive
programme of experiences to ensure the maximum impact on your daughter’s education.

C-View Magazine
C-View Magazine is the annual media arts review of St Catherine’s Catholic School for Girls, and contains many of the various projects we have undertaken in the school as a result of our Specialism.
