Fundraising for Deborabant Secondary School in Tanzania
Over the last 2 years and originally as part of our lenten efforts students have raised money for the Deborabant secondary school in Tanzania.
The school was built by the La Sainte Union Sisters who founded St. Catherines. Sister Marion Walsh who works in the Deborabant school visits St. Catherines each year to let us know how the school is progressing.
This year we held “Tiara’s For Tanzania” an opportunity to both celebrate the Royal Wedding on 29th April 2011 and raise money for the school in Tanzania. All students were invited to donate £1 and wear a Tiara either bought or made for the day. Prizes were given to students in each form and year group for the best Tiaras.
