Do I need to have studied a subject at GCSE?
It will depend on the subject. Some subjects like, psychology are often not available at GCSE and so there is no expectation that you have studied it previously. This is something that is best discussed with individual Heads of Subject as they will be able to explain the demands of their course and allow you to make an informed decision.
Who is teaching the course?
With departments full of subject specialists, the teacher of the course will be dependent on the commitments and timetables of teachers. These will no be confirmed until July.
What are the rules for personal electronic devices?
Sixth Form success is founded on independent study, including use of personal electronic devices. This will be restricted to the Sixth Form study space, according to the acceptable use and safeguarding policies.
Is there a dress code?
Sixth Form students will adhere to a dress code suitable for a professional environment, preparing them for the world of work and university beyond life at St Catherine’s.
What do sixth formers do when they don’t have a lesson?
Year 12 students will have some elements of their timetable as supervised, directed study time, in the Sixth Form study space. Students will be trusted to manage their time, during their lunch, leaving site and signing in and out as appropriate. Expectations for conduct in the local community remain as high as when on school site.
